Cultural Health Options for Independent Community Elders

The Meals on Wheels Orange County Cultural Healthy Options for Independent Community Elders (CHOICE) pilot program is an innovative, meal program to give older adults additional ways to enjoy their meals with friends, family, and loved ones.

Eligible older adults registered for the CHOICE pilot program can choose to enjoy a restaurant meal in the company of others either by dining in a local approved restaurant or at designated times at an approved community partner organization.

These nourishing meals are approved by a registered dietitian and address a wide range of cultural preferences.

Who Qualifies

Who Qualifies?

CHOICE pilot program participants must be 60 years or older and reside in one of the 20 cities in Central and North Orange where we provide nutritional services. Spouses or partners of CHOICE pilot program participants may also qualify. For more information regarding eligibility for yourself, your spouse, or your partner, contact 714-823-3294.

Since the CHOICE program is a pilot program, it may reach capacity. When this occurs, an interest list will be established. When space becomes available, those on the interest list will be contacted and enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meals on Wheels Orange County is proud to offer the CHOICE program to seniors regardless of income level. We kindly request a voluntary contribution; however, individuals will not be refused services based on their inability to contribute.

Guests of program participants are welcome to attend restaurants for dine-in service but must order off the full menu and pay the regular price.
